After School Club

Ages: 5 Years - 12 Years

Our after school club provides full day care for after school children, this includes breakfast before school, drop off to their school and pick up from their school at the various times. When the children arrive back at the after school club they will have their dinner, and then complete homework and get involved in our various after school activities, play, arts and crafts, messy play, cooking, small and large group activity and projects. The children will have freedom and choice in all activities they wish to participate in.

During the children’s mid-term breaks and throughout summer there will be full day camps provided.

(The fee that the children pay during term time will not increase and will remain the same during full time attendance.).

After School Activities

Playball:

The aim of the Playball programme is to introduce children to sport in a positive, fun and non- intimidating way.

The Playball programme recognises the different stages of development in young children and uses sport as the means to develop all aspects of a child’s life.

Playball is a sport and movement programme which has a direct impact on the learning process in the classroom and everyday life. Movement is a child’s first language and is the basis of all learning. 

Dance Classes:

Our Montessori dance class consists of hip hop dance, the latest songs, musical theatre, team building, and confidence coaching. We encourage all students to take part and most importantly have fun.

Our tutor, Adele, is a professional dancer in the business specialising in Dance styles such as hip hop, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre. She is teaching almost ten years now and runs a very successful dance school in Leixlip and Celbridge. Adele is one of Little Harvard’s dancer teachers nearly 5 years now.

Adele adores performing, teaching and watching the huge progress her students make. She wants to share all her love for dance, theatre performance and her

experiences to all her students in a fun feel class.

Karate:

We teach Practical Self Defence Skills, the Advanced Kenpo Karate System and Sport Kickboxing.

Our children’s program is focused on instilling Confidence, Discipline and Respect in a positive friendly environment through a system of tip awards and a belt graduation structure. 

Nature Classes:

OWLS Forest School’ – Raising Nature Awareness in Young Children.

This programme is a nature studies initiative based on the idea of providing practical assistance to teachers in teaching their classes about the natural environment using a fun and hands-on approach to learning.

‘OWLS Forest  School’ is aimed at increasing awareness of the natural environment in young children by using the outdoors as an ‘Outdoor Classroom’.  The name ‘OWLS' stands for Outdoor, Wildlife, Learning and Survival and is a Children’s Nature Charity.

The programme works by a series of visits which start within the school and combines the use of the schools nearby green spaces.  Activities and projects range from nature slide shows, environmental educational lead sessions, wildlife watching, practical workshops, fun days out and conservation lead tasks such as wildlife gardening and a individual practical project such as bird feeder making (this is an additional cost to the programme).

The focus of ‘OWLS Forest School’ is to engage children in nature studies using the school curriculum for example, food chains, mini beast, birds, hibernation and plants.
